Saturday Sampler with Elaine (Online Only) - Feb. 8, Mar. 8, Apr. 5 & May 10th
Join Elaine for her Saturday sampler as she educates you on a variety of things related to quilt making. The Saturday Samplers are one-hour lectures on various things related to quilt making.
Saturday Sampler
February 8 – 1:00 PM
Batting: Selecting the right batting for your project is essential. Choosing the incorrect batting can turn a fabulous quilt into a not-so-fabulous quilt after washing. Learn about fiber contents, scrim, prewashing, density of the quilting, and more.
March 8 – 1:00 PM
Pressing: Pressing is extremely important for accuracy. You’ll learn loads of tips and tricks to improve your pressing skills. Plus, there are oodles of tools to help with pressing your seams; which ones are right for you?
April 5 – 1:00 PM
Colour – choosing colours for a quilt: This is one of the hardest things for most quilters when starting a new project. Learn valuable tips on inspiration, value, troublesome colors, how to shop for the fabric, and which ones should go in your quilt.
May 10 – 9:30 AM
When things go wrong: This is an interactive session. You ask the questions – why did this go wrong, and we’ll look at the answers. Things like, “Why does my thread nest at the beginning of every seam?” or “My threads keep breaking; what should I do?” are just a couple of examples of the type of questions we’ll look at.
This works out to $7.50/class!
