Classes

All virtual classes are live and interactive.  So, go ahead and ask that question!

Cancellation Policy: We have a price per class so we can pay our instructors and bring supplies in for the classes asigned.  At times we do have a wait list for classes and if you need to cancel a class please advise 72hrs in advance.  If you sign up for a class and do not make the class, your class fee can not be refunded. If a class is cancelled due to inclement weather, we will outreach to those affected and reschedule the class or offer a refund or credit for future use.

Online Classes


This 9-part class runs from October to June. And yes – it’s another Jen Kingwell class! This quilt has many learning opportunities as we translate her pattern designs for hand piecing and applique to machine techniques. The quilt is large, but there will be options to make it smaller. It’s a great scrap user, or pull one of those fat quarter bundles you have been coveting and use that!!! Join Sue B. as she teaches you all the tips and tricks in using her favourite Deb Tucker rulers. These rulers increase your precision to have seams line up perfectly. This quilt is all done in batik fabrics designed by Studio 180 from Island Batik. More classes to follow in the new year, which are included in this current price. This will approximately be a 8 month BOM

Step into a world of warmth and creativity and join the On Wander Lane class. Each month has a different pattern to represent that month. As well, each pattern will give you several patterns such as, create a pillow, table topper, mug rug, or just do the BOM block each month to create a stunning quilt at the end.

Join Kelly to make this lovely, scrappy sampler quilt! It’s the perfect project to dig into your scraps. Or a fat quarter bundle you’ve been saving for one day! Make it just as it’s written or put your own spin on it. Kelly will guide you with all her tips. Let’s play with colour, scale, and ways to make it totally one-of-a-kind. You know Kelly’s favourite approach is to start with a fabulous design and then say “what if I……..?” The pattern as written is 82”x82”, but it’s easy to use just a portion and make it any size you want! Can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with!

Join Elaine for her Saturday sampler as she educates you on a variety of things related to quilt making. The Saturday Samplers are one-hour lectures on various things related to quilt making. Saturday Sampler February 8 – 1:00 PM Batting: Selecting the right batting for your project is essential. Choosing the incorrect batting can turn a fabulous quilt into a not-so-fabulous quilt after washing. Learn about fiber contents, scrim, prewashing, density of the quilting, and more. March 8 – 1:00 PM Pressing: Pressing is extremely important for accuracy. You’ll learn loads of tips and tricks to improve your pressing skills. Plus, there are oodles of tools to help with pressing your seams; which ones are right for you? April 5 – 1:00 PM Color – choosing colors for a quilt: This is one of the hardest things for most quilters when starting a new project. Learn valuable tips on inspiration, value, troublesome colors, how to shop for the fabric, and which ones should go in your quilt. May 10 – 9:30 AM When things go wrong: This is an interactive session. You ask the questions – why did this go wrong, and we’ll look at the answers. Things like, “Why does my thread nest at the beginning of every seam?” or “My threads keep breaking; what should I do?” are just a couple of examples of the type of questions we’ll look at.
